Faithful Families: Creating Sacred Moments at Home
By Traci Smith | Published in 2017 by Chalice Press
In this newly retitled and updated edition of Smith’s previous work, Seamless Faith, you’ll find SO MANY wonderful ideas for how to do exactly what the title implies: Create sacred moments at home.
What I love so much about this book is that it focuses on the home being a place where sacred experiences with God can happen. Creating these holy moments at home requires being intentional, from saying a bedtime blessing over your child (p14) to washing away worries (p120), Smith’s ideas run the gamut from everyday activities to special occasions.
I love that she provides a suggested age for each activity, as well as the materials and time you’ll need to have a successful experience. And if it’s like anything else when it comes to teaching our kids spiritually, the parents will get just as much out of it as the kids do.
If you’re looking to invite more of the sacred into your family’s life, I highly recommend this book. I wish I’d had it sooner.
